Emmaus Road Elders

So I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, as well as a partaker in the glory that is going to be revealed: shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you; not for shameful gain, but eagerly; not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock.   -1 Peter 5:1-3

  • Luke Friemark - Ruling Elder

Luke is a husband to Tracy and father of Grace, Dexter, and Sophie.  He makes handmade pottery for a living at Sunset Hill Stoneware.  He enjoys football, craft beer, and theology.  While he grew up in a WELS Lutheran household, he did not become saved until his early 20s.  Ever since then he has felt a call to ministry. He has witnessed and experienced the dangers of cultural Christianity that is endemic in our Wisconsin culture. He believes that this issue is best addressed by the explicit preaching of the gospel.  It is his desire to apply the explicit gospel to all areas of our lives so that we might enjoy and glorify God more fully.
